The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of The Republic of Indonesia in collaboration with Padma Sada Svargantara Foundation as the initiator of Sound Of Borobudur Movement, and Kompas Group held "International Conference of Sound of Borobudur: MUSICoverNATIONS: Exploring the Traces of Cross-National Brotherhood Through Music".

Borobudur Temple is famous not only as a masterpiece of construction and architecture, but a historical narrative carved in the reliefs of the Borobudur temple, one of the sculptures illustrates musical instruments.

Through this conference will discuss how to re-assemble the relations between nations through musical instruments carved in the relief of Borobudur temple, which is a musical instrument from various provinces of Indonesia and at least from 40 countries of the world. In addition, it will discuss the projection of building a sound destination as a new destination and the sound of Borobudur as an alternative new destination in the world of tourism.

The conference inviting expert speakers from academics, practitioners, ethnomusicologists, bureaucrats who mastered the creative industries of the musical arts as well as the creative economy, also as representatives from UNESCO and VITO.

Kementerian Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif RI bekerja sama dengan Yayasan Padma Sada Svargantara sebagai inisiator Sound Of Borobudur Movement, dan Kompas Group menyelenggarakan “Konferensi Internasional Sound of Borobudur: MUSICoverNATIONS: Menggali Jejak Persaudaraan Lintas Bangsa Melalui Musik”.

Candi Borobudur yang terkenal bukan hanya sebagai adikarya konstruksi dan arsitektur, tetapi narasi sejarah yang terpahat di relief candi Borobudur, salah satunya pahatan yang menggambarkan alat musik.

Melalui konferensi ini akan mendiskusikan bagaimana merangkai kembali keterhubungan antar bangsa melalui alat musik yang terpahat di relief candi Borobudur, yang merupakan alat musik dari berbagai provinsi Indonesia dan sedikitnya dari 40 negara dunia. Selain itu, akan membahas proyeksi membangun sound destination sebagai destinasi baru dan Sound of Borobudur sebagai sebuah alternatif destinasi baru dalam dunia pariwisata.

Konferensi menghadirkan para pembicara ahli dari akademisi, praktisi, etnomusikologi, birokrat yang menguasai tentang industri kreatif seni musik serta ekonomi kreatif, serta perwakilan dari UNESCO dan VITO.
